When everyone in Hole was an addict, except for Eric

I was somewhat anti-libraries last week, owing to letters received, fines paid and inter-library requests not something you can request easily. Borrowed Eric Erlandson “Letters to Kurt”. Heartfelt free form prose that obliquely refers to tax bills, cats, a housing situation with unpacked boxes, less obliquely refers bitterly to Courtney Love. My favourite parts: the dust jacket biography (“right now he lives in Los Angeles” which has me wondering if he’s still in Los Angeles, or was thinking of moving); also the four page factual introduction which explains that Courtney started dating Kurt when she was still dating Eric. If he’d opted not to write 52 prose poems (one for each card in the pack of life) I would like him more.
