White bed linen, open window, curtains ruffling in the breeze

A view of water, a cliff drop, a path that winds along the foreshore, mountains in the background like a cheesy set design prop.

Lying on my bed, reading books, feeling the wind, enjoying my favourite time of the weekend, four o'clock. At this time of the afternoon during daylight saving, you know there are still hours of lightness ahead. If you've been in the sea, or wandering through gardens, or cycling along the harbour, you are tired enough to rest. There's plenty of time in the evening to go swimming again, or to meet friends, to sit on a deck sipping a drink, to overhear floating music from someone else's record player. There's plenty of time to to wheel your bike home from friend's houses, past rehearsal rooms where bands practise, or people rehearse at dance classes.

Spring, and the rumour of summer, I love it.
