That ain't bad

Just when I couldn't wait to leave Sydders, I sat down for an ale with Gretski at The Forresters, started to chill out and then saw Simon Day walk past, and sit down for a drink 2 tables away. Simon Day! RatCat! That Ain't Bad! Year Nine! Black and white stripes! Yearning for the big city!

I think that liking Ratcat at the age of 14 was quite good taste for me, it marked the transition from liking Icehouse and Deacon Blue to listening to The Cure (cliche for a teenager) and attending Big Day Out concerts.

Hot recommendation (not that I saw them) from Homebake was Expatriates, Wolfmother and Mess Hall were loud and metal/rock like. Wolf and Cub packed them in, as did Beautiful Girls. But I liked Architecture in Helsinki and Go-Betweens best.
