Teenager of the year
Have managed to distract myself today reading some of Curtis Sittenfield's freelance articles. Just finished her book Prep on the weekend, adding it to the list of experiences that are helping me let go of the fourteen year old inside of me. Was reminded of my cousin in-law's comments about her younger brother to me he's still the same fourteen year old kid. How long that teenager hovers inside of us, reverting back to embarrass us in public. So that we blush when talking to someone beautiful. We get excited by attention. We memorise obscure details about the person of fascination, be it an Olympian or someone next door. We think that the correctly constructed and delivered conversation will have the same dramatic effect as one of Bailey's confessionals on Party of Five.
