naming a baby after a nice guy

In the last week I have
1. Cooked Sunday roast for 4 people
2. Started knitting a scarf
3. Sketched out a lino print I want to do
4. Sanded my table and sealed it with linseed oil
5. Started a weeklong mindful meditation project (um, already underperforming).

And I have also managed to watch about 30 dvd episodes of "saddle club for grown ups", due to having a major television crush...

Ranmal had been visiting her boyfriend's newborn nephew in hospital. So far he is unnamed, and the parents don't even have a short list of potential names. They were asking her if she knew any nice guys, who they could name their son after. We all suggested "Brendan". Which is her boyfriend's name. Because B is so nice. Should there be any problems naming a baby after his Uncle Brendan? Or Brendan from A Country Practice (another television crush... and to think that my friend Chris met him in real life when he went to an alliance francaise barbeque...)

She actually suggested Andrew, which I agreed with because I couldn't think of anyone besides my boyfriend, who is nice AND has a nice name (Tim and Pete too Gospels, ditto Luke, Nick reminds me a of a kid that had a runny nose). And then you have the problem of trying to guarantee that the kid gets called Pete, not Peter or Dave, not David.

Given my inability to get a name for my tennis team, I can completely relate to the parents dilemma of naming their kid. My last suggestion was Jake, after my nephew's oft-mentioned but never met friend.
