A Glebe landscape
Spent Saturday evening looking through Baz's canvasses. For a while there he lived in a studio on Glebe Point Road, painting full time. All his streetscapes (Glebe Point Road, Manly, Milsons Point, Jeffcott Street) were initially enacted in blues. He worked that blue, with darkness and light, different directions, getting definition.
My favourite painting however was of Dean Lukin, holding tuna fish, against a Port Lincoln coastline. Kind of a caricature of a chesty bond Australian cartoon creature, great skin tones, and working up of the sand and water colours making the coast. Baz has talent.
Gretski also introduced me to Jimmy Fallon-we watched a Saturday Night Live episode with Hugh Jackman as guest star, was completely unrecognisable but excellent as "drunk girl". I like seeing people acting, giving comedy a go. It's great.
