how good are friends?
Let me dedicate this post to Pollyanna-ish type musings on friends. The 3 people I am singling out for attention in particular are Miss Jane, Miss P and Miss Pen, all fabulous girls. (And the other great girls from Tas: Randoll, Miss K, Em and Sabz)
Miss J had the fine art of calmly and politely calling a spade a spade when it was necessary, to both people and organisations. Despite having a fondness for soapie actors and wearing pyjamas at an early hour, I think there was an unpredictable and charismatic character there, and I really miss our collaborations at work
Miss Pen achieved legendary status when she confessed that guys who like Playstation cannot be lusted after; they are children not men. So true. Other quirks include getting excited about a date for icecream ('but I know it's very primary school) and recognising references to Lee Miller, which is a good distinguisher.
Miss P provided me with shelter when I needed it, friendship when I needed it, and cleaned up unexpected messes left behind by saboteurs when I needed it. And I remember reading a saying about how to know who your friends are: those who drive you to the airport. (something P did, and K collected me from there).
It was so hard to say goodbye to these girls.
Also special attention must go to the loveliest guy in all of Tas, the lovely Benny, who rang in to see if I'd made the ferry safe and sound; cannot believe this guy is single and will remember his gentle sweet spirit, reminiscent of my lovely guy, for a long time.
