my new home so far...

Really, I am quite lucky.

I have been given a job I first aspired to three years ago.

I live in in a coastal town with warmer more temperate weather than I have experienced for the past 2 years.

I no longer work in a depressive environment (that's physically and emotionally).

However I am still in a state of shock that my body needs to express; plus I have quite a lot of work to get through. But that will sort itself out.

I haven't faced any major barriers, which surprises me: A thinks that I was so prepared for the worst that I am surprised to not experience it (I'm a bit like Felix, the dog from the pound, always a bit anxious about his new good life).

I miss my yoga teacher and my friends; especially since many of my special crowd were only discovered in the latter half of 2006... But I am enjoying living life the way I want!

Also made an excellent discovery today, one that sealed and confirmed the joys of my new home: a small studio/gallery, exhibiting work by a SERIOUS printmaker, that has thursday life drawing classes. Hurrah Hurrah and one more hurrah, I felt inspired again.

Oh, and deferred my postgrad studies, which is another reason for joy, I figure that they've helped me get my current desirable position, but right now they would just inhibit me enjoying my life, they would sap my energy and my time and exploration of how to enjoy each day here.

What's the town like?

Boganville. Brick and fibro; kitsch icons; people walking around barechested and tattooed; carefree and easy going; cheap vegetables and fruit (hurrah to that as well). There's not much of a genteel side around town, just a flash upmarket neighbourhood by the beach, about 100 metres away from the unemployed crime'n'drugs ghetto neighbourhood. Too weird. Did I mention the coastline is stunning?

And a big hi to Ms Ottoman: have not forgotten you; drove through the little town that you visited when you caught up with Mr A, so impressed the two of you hung out, I love that!
