public transport update

Have noticed that my thighs have muscles again, which is pleasing. Finally the bike journey to work feels easy and not as though I need to lie down and have my brow wiped. The magpies have so far left me alone.

Caught the bus into town on Friday because it was so wet, and on my return the bus driver was relieved that I didn't have to walk too far to my house (bus stop right outside). The other week I even had the cranky sullen teenage boy at my bus stop actually go out of his way to make sure the bus driver stopped for me. So people on the bus are nice, except for the odd day time drunk...

Then my parents have organised to come and visit. They don't know that I've lost my licence. They've already (for their own reasons) organised to hire a car. I tell Gretski today about my sister's suggestion I explain my non-driving behaviour as being for environmental reasons. She thinks they'll never fall for it. That I am better off pretending my car is broken. "But not in anyway that your parents might be able to fix".

I think of this. Can either of my parents fix cars? I suspect my step father would know something about cars... in The Showgirl and The Brumby, there's a car part that the Mum hides out to sabotage her daughter's participation in the show... if I could find out what that piece and remove it, then I'd be safe from any parental DIY fixes...

I could just tell the truth. But it's really not worth the harassment.
