inept in the kitchen
Sad to say that I am excited that I still weigh the same as I did 2 months ago. But I did do a big overhaul of my health and worked out what not to eat/drink at the beginning of the year, and it's still paying off. Discovering that I am still "thin" did temporarily stop me from over indulging in easter buns/eggs. But not for long.
I got a phone call from my nephews who'd been camping with their dad and step mother. Apparently it was good, they got to wear beanies, put their 3 man tent up by themselves, got given lots of easter eggs. Gus said he'll probably save his easter eggs, "I don't want to... but Dad doesn't let me eat very much chocolate". Poor Gus, he's under such a strict regime-early bed times, rationed chocolate.
I also got a phone call yesterday from Asher, who decided to start the call by telling me he loved me. Then he got very excited about something (which I couldn't understand), and yelled out "Tortoise" about the surprise pet that he found at Granny's house.
Besides taking phone calls, and sitting in the backyard reading, I have done nothing this weekend. My in-laws have been out and about, participating in street festivals, visiting national parks and I've been using the time to catch up on daytime naps. All preparation for the mental and emotional onslaught of my new job which starts next week. It would be so nice to one day start a new job without it also involving a city and home relocation. But at least getting this new job has taught me about the importance of self belief and chasing opportunities that you want.
Inept in the kitchen? Whilst I thought I should be worshipped for baking a packet cake, it appears I left out the walnuts, and had no right to be calling it a carrot and walnut cake.
But at least I didn't forget to measure the race track at the Stawell Gift like someone did.
