First late night out all year!

It being the last Friday before Christmas, I made plans. Dom invited me to join him at the Wheatsheaf. Or was it the Grace Emily? I met Rachel and Adam. My boss told me he was going to the Wheatsheaf later to see bands. I was explaining to Rachel the plot of Girls, the ability to keep in arms length contact via social media, referring to Illy as an example. For some reason every time I visited Illy, including the night she filmed me interviewing Duckworth for my assignment, she had the house to herself. Three flatmates and always home alone... the other gals off working on film location shoots and the like. Once Adam gave up on waiting for his friends, "partners in life and work" Anna and Pange, over from Melbourne, we walked to the tram which we missed, and taxied to Hindmarsh Square, where a friend from Berlin had requested a meet up, relocating at a woodfire oven place, meeting this guy, who I’m going to call X, cos I can’t actually remember his name. He’s an engineer, and after dating a girl for several years he decided he wanted a less serious relationship so now has a 20-year-old girlfriend.  X was wearing a pink shirt, like his dad, a paediatrician divorcee who also likes to date ladies the same age as X.  I perched in the open window and looked out to the trees of the park. I met the guy that runs the gourmet sandwich stand at Gilles Street Market, very serious about his sandwiches! One guy had beautiful thick eyelashes, so naturally I avoided making any conversation, nicknamed him “bangle wearing guy” (he was coordinating the bill) to cover up that I just wanted to stare. Long eyelashes on a man, so lucky, classic Greek feature.
