Neighbourhood kids

I like my neighbourhood mix. In a city that tends to be fairly homogenous, it is nice to live with a diverse population-Vietnamese family businesses, strong Aboriginal population, artists. Lately the music kids have been on the train, shyly selling fundraiser chocolates. I watch these kids: they are the nerd’s now/cool kids to be. My favourite has bleached blond hair in style of David Bowie, gentlemanly manner, accompanied by one girl at a time, talks wryly about faux-suicidal feelings re music forced to rehearse.

I haven’t tracked the musical history of Rowland S Howard to know if he joined Crime and the City Solution when on the soundtrack from Until the End of the World, a question I may be able to ask of my new pen pal (someone Jed has set me up with-so far, I know delightfully little other). CATCS had that sound of diaspora-people who left home, be it the country to city, across the Nullarbor or over the seas.
