Obama Election
Oh! It's true. So today, history was made. Obama was elected. All today, from about lunch time, there was commentary at work: from colleagues, from patients. After work, there were comments from my grand parents, parents and on-line from friends. How much we appreciate the communality, the theatre, the emotional connection that comes when a consensus of people make a decision that we individually make. It is nice to be part of a like minded crowd. It is also weird to think of how we pin all our hopes on one person, to have one leader responsible for so much, want them to be perfect, super human, able to carry the responsibilites and hero worship of so many; with the need for heroism recorded from the classical era. So if history was made with him, I look forward to history with a female president too, one day. My work day was more enjoyable today. I am an emotional person and things that piss me off, get to me.
